Welcome to my site!
I am a marine biologist, microbial ecologist, part-time bioinformatician, post doc researcher, diver, wannabe writer, former musician (pianist/keyboardist). In other words, Jack of all trades master of none (but oftentimes better than a master of one).
Currently, I am working at the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) as a Data Scientist.
Previously, I was working at PSL Research University: EPHE-UPVD-CNRS, UAR CNRS 3278 Centre de Recherche Insulaire et Observatoire de l’Environnement (CRIOBE) (Perpignan, France) & Laboratoire d’Excellence “CORAIL”, Centre de Recherche Insulaire et Observatoire de l’Environnement (CRIOBE) (French Polynesia), the George Washington University at the Saw Microbial Diversity Lab and at the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR).
I have studied Biology (BSc) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Environmental Biology – Management of Terrestrial and Marine Resources (MSc) at the University of Crete and Marine Sciences (PhD) at the Ghent University and the University of Bremen. If you are wondering how the later was possible, it was a joint PhD degree organized under the framework of the MARES Joint Doctoral Programme on Marine Ecosystem Health & Conservation.
You can find me in, almost, all the relevant platforms that scientists use to interact with each other (and keep their scores).
You can also drop me an e-mail at christina.pavloudi@embrc.eu or cpavloud@hcmr.gr
